THE AUTHOR Lady Antonia Fraser is thirty-six. She is married to Hugh Fraser, the Conservative M.P. for Stafford and Stone. They have six children whose ages range from twelve to two years old, and live in London and Inver-nesshire. Antonia Fraser read history at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. She has contributed articles to a number of magazines, has appeared on television, and has written on children's subjects; this is her first historical biography.
